Things to check:
* Do any EBB lights come on with just USB connected (not power)?
* Do any EBB lights come on with just power plugged in (not USB)?
* Are you using a USB hub or extension cord?
* Do you have another USB cable you can test?

Yes, and I'll follow up with that information in response to your email message. Additionally, you may want to note that when transporting the AxiDraw, it is a good idea to remove the pen clip from the vertical stage.
I see that you emailed us as well, and I will follow up with answers via email, as this forum may not be the best place for a detailed discussion of this type.
1) Mostly no.2) Mostly no. But if you add up all the voltages in your series circuit, you'll see that it can't run on 3 V.3) A flashing LED in series with regular LEDs will also cause them to flash. However, if you're going to run all those things i…
AVRs in the same series should be straightforward to work with, such as the ATmega324, 644 and 1284. For other chips, you may need significant changes.
While it is not officially supported (and proper operation is not guaranteed), it is possible to connect mode switches for multiple boards together, and some people have done it.
If you connect all of the switches together, it may interfere with rep…
The part numbering and layout is consistent: D0 (visible LED) is next to IRD0 (IR LED) and Q0 (Phototransistor); D1 is next to IRD1 and Q1 etc. You can follow those back to the pins of the chip on the schematic. I assume you found the schematic here…
You need a diffuser box. Here's one way to make a cheap one:http://www.evilmadscientist.com/2007/lampshade-light-tent/
There are also lots of inexpensive ones available for purchase on, for example, amazon.
The pen moves in an arc over the object, so it does not work on cylinders except for within a very narrow band near the center of its range. However, those may have enough curvature to make them workable in the widest section. You'll need a differen…
Yes, 9 V 2 A would be great. You might be able to get away with 9 V 1 A, but anything more than 1.5 A will be good. The important thing is that it is regulated 9 V DC. The barrel plug is 2.1 x 5.5 mm center positive.
I don't know of any LEDs sold with a "bubbling" effect, but we do have yellow-green candle flicker LEDs which can be used in place of the red or yellow ones. You can see all of our bulk candle flicker LEDs here: http://shop.evilmadscientist.com/comp…
Does the servo motor (small blue pen lift motor) move up and down when you send the toggle up / down commands from the AxiDraw extension?
Is the black/red/white cable plugged securely into the controller board?
When the white servo horn is in the lo…
No matter what you do, if you want something to be filled, there has to be a path created for the pen to follow that will fill the shape. The hatch fill is one of the easiest and most efficient ways to do fills. We have written about some other meth…
The EggBot does not run on an Arduino Leonardo. Either your machine is not one of our EggBots or you also have an Arduino Leonardo connected to your computer.
As an open source hardware project, you can learn from it and borrow code from it without purchasing it.
Regarding the number of segments, the 17th segment is actually the decimal point, which means ours technically have 18 with dual decimal points…
Our go-to example for driving these displays is the Alpha Clock Five. There is example Arduino code there which you may be able to use as a basis for other projects. You can also look at the hardware documentation to see how we drive the different l…
The wiki has a separate login from the EMS forums, and is not associated with wikipedia. You'll need to create a new login there (sorry!)
And no-- you're welcome to post things like this here-- but I wanted to make sure that resource was included …
